Is there still a need for printed graphic panels laminated and mounted foamex boards?
For exhibition work I would say yes. Most of the machines that print direct to boards do not have the quality of roll fed inkjet printers. The ink can crack on the edges of the graphic panels and the overall job can be inferior to the old ways. We still produce a huge amount of exhibition and display graphics on paper that we then laminate and mount on foamex.
The colours are more vibrant, the small text is easier to read and we have more finishing options.
For frequently changing POS, direct to substrate printing is a faster and cheaper alternative, but don’t ignore the old way of doing things.
